Little Treasures

My new paintings are a still life series centered on various fish tank ornaments such as mermaids, castles, and ceramic sea life in unlikely gatherings and strange combinations.  Also little treasures with cloud-filled tropical backgrounds, favorite natural objects, prized heirlooms, and beloved Chihuahuas are painted in curious juxtapositions.  These quirky personal icons are symbolic of me or cherished childhood memories.

I paint a subtle, slightly humorous view of the world through the filter of my own experiences.  I use a touch of surrealism with a focus on symmetry, simplicity and beauty.  My aim is to make beautiful paintings which will be treasured and saved.
